Happy Day Comics!

Today is Fia’s birthday! In her honour i made this comic:
I think these hats a bitchin'!

I think these hats a bitchin'!

However today is also Emancipation Day. Or you know…it would be if we were in Washington DC. And so i have edited (read: “made more awesome”) Fia’s comic of her stealing my plant (she’s a bitch. i don’t want her to have a happy birthday. i hope the conveyor belt at the japanese restaurant stops working!) (no, i don’t mean that. i am so sorry. I will buy you a Doors album) to celebrate this event. It isn’t as awesome as the Emancipation Proclamation but is still pretty rad, also it happened today! Like your birth!

I wore a top hat whilst editing this

Unrelated note: I now love Neutral Milk Hotel. To make this related…pretend i wrote this song  for you!- enjoy these lyrics:

What a beautiful face
I have found in this place
That is circling all round the sun
What a beautiful dream
That could flash on the screen
In a blink of an eye and be gone from me
Soft and sweet
Let me hold it close and keep it here with me, me

And one day we will die
And our ashes will fly from the aeroplane over the sea
But for now we are young
Let us lay in the sun
And count every beautiful thing we can see

P.S  fuck i just realised Spike Milligan made a typo. the bitch. however i am not changing it now.

Busey, Nostalgia and Birthdays!

Today is Suga’s birthday! Happy Birthday Suga! I would like to do a Hank Green and whip out my guitar and play a song i have written for this occasion…but yeah…still not doing so good on the learning to play guitar front. And that would involve making a video. Then playing back that video and being all “….i can’t believe that is my voice”. Because when i am thinking, my voice sounds lovely. Almost like some kind of female…non-scottish…Sean Connery. Okay not like Sean Connery at all but it is just nice. And i don’t want to ruin that for me. So i would like to add this video of Suga’s theme tune to the video. Because we all love this song. And it reminds me that this summer i will be in america and will no longer be so freakin’ cold.

So Best Wishes to Suga. Who according to facebook is happy. Yays.

Anyway. I am actually just typing to avoid revision. Also because i am addicted to constantly checking this incredibly weird thread on the Something Awful forum which started off as “lets photoshop celebrity heads on people doing ordinary things” to “lets photoshop Gary Busey onto anything we can get our hands on”. Now, i don’t know a lot about Gary Busey because he is in films i haven’t seen and is more famous in america and actually…the only time i have seen him in anything was his brief cameo in scrubs. But i do know that he has one crazy face.  I just checked it out at some other random persons suggestion and now whenever i am trying to think normally Gary Busey’s head just pops up, snickering like Muttley from Wacky Races (does anyone remember that? i remember them more for the whole “Stop the Pigeon!” thing which i only just found out was not actually entitled “Stop the Pigeon”. it has some weird long name. but if so-  does it blow your mind that Muttley was voiced by the same person who voiced Scooby-Doo? i mean…its wrong! he also voiced Papa Smurf! which is…weird i guess. it would be creepy to be the voice of Papa Smurf) (another question-  Dick Dastardly? hypercool non?)

Busey and nostalgia aside- Suzy has apparently read my blog. Hello Suzy! *waves hysterically because i have recognised Suzy’s coolness ever since we both went on a school trip to Greece and we sang “Switch” on the plane* *Suzy rolls eyes at my desperate attempts to be associated with her*.

BUT WAY MORE COOL THAN SUZY IS THE SHAKESPEARE ACTION FIGURE LIVING  IN MY FRUIT BOWL. Just take my word for it. He is there. Hanging out with the oranges and bananas and this random thing of garlic. He is there.

Release the Awesome

It has been slightly stressful this week. I think i just broke the toilet, haven’t prepared for my french orals, exams next week etc. But hey–i think i did okay at my chemistry mock. However, the real reason i’m feeling so awesome: of course because of the wonder that is Rufus Wainwright playing live. At Hampton Court Palace. Making jokes about meeting Gordon Brown, coming in his pants and historical inaccuracies. Love! Love him so much! The kind of love which cannot be expressed by typing, you need to hear the crazed whining out loud. It is sort of like “mnehBLEH! Behmnepmneh!”. It is the noise i generally reserve for close ups of David Tennant’s fine ass on Doctor Who.

We (me, Jess, Jess’ father) arrived at Hampton Court (most awesome venue ever!) early, trudged through the grass whilst wearing inappropriate  shoes ad sat down to a luxurious picnic. Feeling incredibly english as we sat by the river, sipping tea. It was still raining lightly when he began playing (he is so beautiful, such charisma! stage presence! im such a fan girl!) but by then we did not care. I’ve never heard him live before (jess+her dad have) so i wasn’t expected his voice to sound as amazing as it does on CD. But it so does. It is even better. Especially because you get to hear him talk normally as well, randomly interjecting things into songs (“and i don’t know the words to this verse…lalalalala”) and it was a small venue and he was playing by himself so it was so intimate. He played my song first! The Art Teacher–possibly my favourite. I loved the acoustic Sanssouci and California and OMG i saw Rufus Wainwright sing Hallelujah! Me! Him! That song! Wow!

It is my birthday tomorrow! Also Hannahs, so we are both bringing in random snacks. I was eating the first, failed attempt at brownie whilst “witnessing history in the making”, i.e Barack Obama becoming the first black candidate of a major party. Obama FTW! Plus he looked so cute with his wife! [Bill Clinton looked slightly less good, still amazingly charming but rather red. Still love Bill]. Unfortunately, this piece of history just makes me sing “I got a crush on Obama” by the famous Obama Girl.
